What is Ozone?
Ozone (O₃) is a molecule composed of three oxygen atoms. While two oxygen atoms (O₂) form the breathable oxygen essential for life, the third oxygen atom makes ozone a highly reactive oxidant.

How Stratospheric Ozone is Formed
Stratospheric ozone (O₃) is naturally produced through a two-step chemical reaction driven by solar ultraviolet (UV) radiation and oxygen molecules (O₂):
1️⃣ UV radiation breaks apart an oxygen molecule (O₂) into two highly reactive oxygen atoms (O).
2️⃣ Each oxygen atom (O) then combines with another oxygen molecule (O₂) to form ozone (O₃).
This natural process helps create the ozone layer, which plays a crucial role in protecting life on Earth by absorbing harmful UV radiation from the sun.

How It Works:
1️⃣ Oxygen molecules (O₂) pass between two electrodes separated by a dielectric barrier.
2️⃣ A High Voltage discharge is applied, generating Cold Plasma that ionizes the gas.
3️⃣ Some oxygen molecules (O₂) split apart, and the freed oxygen atoms temporarily combine with other O₂ molecules, forming ozone (O₃).
